Slow ≠ boring takes a fresh approach to communicating the importance of taking a considered path to our consumption and use of textiles.
The brief for this project was to conduct a photoshoot and produce marketing material for a chosen relevant theme. I designed and machine knit a garment using scrap yarns and showcased the colours and textures I was able to create using waste materials. The marketing material created alongside the garment involves a mock up of an Instagram profile where users can engage with information on how they can re-evaluate their own relationships between fashion and consumption. It was important that the imagery and information was accessible and exciting, showing that sustainable fashion can still be as exciting as the new trends we are constantly exposed to on our Instagram feeds.
The second element of the marketing materials involves a mending kit to encourage users to become actively involved in sustainable textile consumption via mending, repairing, or repurposing.
